Admission Procedure

Admissions to the various nursing programmes commence as per the schedule prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The admission process is conducted in a transparent and systematic manner, ensuring equal opportunities for all eligible candidates. Applicants are selected based on the prescribed eligibility criteria and applicable admission guidelines. Prospective students are required to submit the necessary application forms and supporting documents within the stipulated timelines. Eligibility

Criteria for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at SRIPMS College of Nursing

B.SC Nursing

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. Nursing programme must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Applicants should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination recognized by a competent board or university, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. A minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) is required for eligibility. Admission to the programme is based on merit and the selection process prescribed by the University or the competent authority, in accordance with the prevailing norms and regulations.

M.SC Nursing

Candidates must be Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (or equivalent) recognized by a State Nursing Registration Council. Applicants should have completed B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% marks from an Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution and possess at least one year of clinical experience. Candidates must be medically fit, and a 5% relaxation in marks may be applicable for SC/ST candidates as per norms. Admission is based on merit and the entrance examination conducted by the University or competent authority.

Ph.D Course

Candidates applying for the programme should possess an M.Sc. Nursing degree in the relevant specialty with a minimum of 50% marks and must be registered with the Tamil Nadu State Nursing Council.
